more than six months of preparations, scoldings, cryings and hard work all ended grandly with alot of emotions in our hearts at the VCH last night.

oh haha. TAN TIANHUI is eager for my take on yesterday's concert. (: im sorry but i like to post in details. (:

in short, we rawked the vch overwhelmed with feelings.

i know we dont say it, but it's kinda obvious some of us still has the passion for band burning in our hearts.

time: 10.30. 8.5 hours more to appassionata X
attire: band skirt, band tee, band socks, band shoes.

ok. so me, jasmine, cheryl, jacey and eugenia were supposed to have a section lunch before going to school yesterday. we went PRATA MAN. then i was supposed to buy A STALK OF NICELY WRAPPED TULIP FOR JASMINE TAN but the shop didnt open! so i went somewhere else and GOT HER A BOUQUET OF ROSES INSTEAD. see IM SO NICE! and she didnt get me anything lah!

rawrr. then supposed to meet her at her bus top to go prata man together. but I PRESSED THE BELL AND THE BUS UNCLE DIDNT STOP. then i had to alight at the next bus stop instead lah. so rubbish. then finally reached there like half an hour late. then only cheryl was there. jacey went SWIMMING before the concert can! we were like !!!!! . then eugenia and CHUNGYAN came cause chungyan was with yooj. then we realised that chungyan very slow! haha! and her laughter is contagious lah! haha. oh. then chungyan realised she didnt bring shorts to wear. which was like so dead. cause our band skirt is kinda light (I JUST REALISED.) so much so that when you cross your legs and sit down, the skirt flies straight up. when you go down the stairs real fast, it kinda flies too. so hrm VERY DANGEROUS. yes. then she never wear shorts. and flutes are sitting in the front row on stage. and guess what!

i didnt wear shorts too.

jasmine was like staring at me with that "omg. omg! " look. then i was like THANKS ARH. then jasmine was like, but it should be okay lah. we're double bassists. we STAND WHILE PLAYING you know. (:

time: 12. 7 hours to appassionata X.

then after lunch we went to school only to find a BIG TRUCK WAITING OUTSIDE THE AUDI. super high up and super big lah! woah. then we went up and found percussion practising for their percussion enzem. and I TELL YOU. THEY REALLY IMPROVED ALOT. after we went up they ran through brazillian which wasnt an easy piece to play together. still remembered last year for percussion enzem they wanted to play brazillian and they really couldnt make it. but now it's like PRO. (: the mallets were like ZAI3. then christal is like FOREVER PRO. then pearlynne and huijuan improved alot now they look like PRO PEOPLE. (: and when they ran through, jasmine got super touched and started tearing. then pearlynne followed lah. erms. but ya. lots of hugs were exchanged but it didnt last long.

after they ran through finish, we started carrying tubas, double basses and percussion stuff down to outside the audi. most of the stuff wasnt much of a problem cause the lift was working and the instruments had wheels so can drag. the only problems were DOUBLE BASSES, THE BLOODY SYNTHESIZER AND THE HUGE AMPLIFYER. so damn heavy lah! no no. ok. the double basses were ok. heavy but not soooo heavy. SYNTHESIZER AND AMPLIFYER?! synthesizer needed more than 8 people to carry it ok. amplifyer was like 4 people carry. -.-

then the trouble was LIFTING THE INSTRUMENTS ON THE HUGH TRUCK. cause the truck was raised to quite a high level. and we had to lift them up to almost neck level. O.O tubas and double basses is ok. 2-3 people can manage. but percussion stuff?!! timpani, mallets, drumset CHIMES, SYNTHESIZER?!?! but the driver uncle was super nice and super gentlemanly and SUPER STRONG. he helped alot. (:

then off to vch. we were all like mad on the bus lah. then basses were with trombones and clarinets. hmm. vera and sabrina very noisy on the bus leh. haha! i think me and jasmine super noisy also. (: HIGH MAH. then we exchanged present. got a cute pretty scotchtape from jasmine and a note. "doesnt being the person playing beside you in band mean a thing to you!" (: im quite touched and guilty with jasmine's note. felt that i havent been growing up and being matured enough. whole day TALK TALK TALK LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH. and kept playing around during band lah. even though i was quite serious during the practice at first but when concert was nearing i became more playful. I DUNNO WHY. must be because the actions for gelato and jasmine's stupid ideas lah! haha.

reached vch. we got off our bus then went up to the concert hall to put our stuff in the audience seats first. once we step in we were like "woah grand." that type of feeling, but it soon wore off. then went back down to ban1 percussion and basses stuff. only to realise that the lift for vch BROKE DOWN.

percussion were quite pissed i think. i would be if i were them. HOW TO CARRY TIMPANI AND SYNTHESIZER UP 3 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS! so we went back down AND IT WAS RAINING. drums cannot be wet lah. so sylvia went back up to get cloth and stuff to cover the drums when we carried them to vch. then we dragged 6 tubas up the stairs. quite ok lah. then carried percussion stuff like suspender, crash, toms, bongos auxilaries up easily cause small and quite light mah. then woah. DOUBLE BASSES and the other stuff like MALLETS, CHIMES, GONG, TIMPANI, we struggled like mad. cause the timpani, chimes, mallets and gong quite heavy, and double basses were TOO LONG to go up the steps. so we decided to carry the double basses horrizontally instead. then by the time we reached the concert hall, we still had to move all the way in the LIFT IT UP TO THE STAGE. which was once again about of neck level. tiring lah!

ok. after carrying all that stuff, we went to exchange presents. then gave sec 3s and sec 4s their presents, cause i didnt give sec 2s and sec 1s. then huijuan, patricia, pearlynne and liangzhen all jealous that jasmine got a bouquet of flowers from me! quotes them: "EEE SIEWYING. WHY I DONT HAVE! jasmine you can open up the bouquet and distribute the roses to us. we dont mind! (:" erms. then i gave yufei the smallest blue box cause she was the smallest, then nutcase was like "oh thankyou!" i thought she'd say something like "why i got the smallest box!" NOW I KNOW WHY. cause IT'S BLUE. and YUFEI LIKES BLUE. RIGHTTT? then jiaying got and ORANGE BOX and rouhui got a GREEN BOX.

then we went to setup instruments and tune up. me and jasmine decided to tune open strings and positions outside so we went outside to tune. took very long lah. jasmine is pro at tuning. (:

then after the long time of tuning, we decided to go one stage when the whole band except us were already on stage. i kept thinking that we were supposed to stand next to percussion lorh. super blur. and WE HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING UP ON STAGE! ): cause the steps to the stage super narrow, then our doubles basses so fat! i went up first and almost hit the crystal light on the wall next to the step with my bass lah!

and when we finally got up on stage, we realised that it didnt feel very grand at all and we realised that we got our HIGH CHAIRS! i tried sitting and playing and realised that the position that we had to sit in was VERY UNGLAM. ahems. and ya. NO SHORTS. so we decided not to use the chairs. hrms. we sorta ran through the repetoire but not entirely lah. then i thought we sounded quite loud for ride and persis. must be the percussion. cause vch amplifies percussion. dunno why. but WOAH. listen liao VERY SHUANG. especially persis! ((: yes. then HAIYO. during rehearsal our SEC ONE EMCEES KEPT LAUGHING TO THEMSELVES FOR NO REASON. dont ask me why. then halfway through the rehearsal I SPOTTED A DEAD COCKROACH ON THE VCH STAGE. it was dusty and mouldy lah! wth!

me: "er jasmine, there's a cockroach on the floor."
jasmine: "huh? what!" -looks- "AHHH. OMG! where did it come from! did it come from our bass?!" (cause LAST YEAR'S CONCERT jasmine saw a cockroach coming out from her bass. SO FREAKED OUT CAN. like every year concert SURE GOT COCKROACH. thanks arh! -.-)

then we stood far far apart from the cockroach caus ethe cockroach was like in the middle of our basses? and i decided to use the high chair for rehearsal instead. then during the whole rehearsal me and jasmine was damn freaked out by that stupid cockroach!

oh then the stage super freaky. cause the back there where the bass guitar is, theres a hole at the side of the stage with stairs leading to the changing rooms. SUPER SCARY CAN. what if we move back and fall down the stairs how! and it' just a hole lah! no barrier no nothing! walao. freak.

time: around 4.30-5. 2-2.5 hours to appassionata X.

then after rehearsal, percussion took the stage for percussion enzem and damn! they were fab! (: haha. then me and tianhui went outside to finish up the 3 cards for sec 1s. super crap and screwed lah! oh yes. then judy and cynthia gave me a small purple flower. haha so cute! then me and tianhui rushed to gather our things and went into our changing rooms. haha. basses got the biggest changing room! (: very nice! ok maybe not the biggest, but one of the biggest changing rooms ON THE FIRST FLOOR. very nice! lalala. then they got lockers and a BIG MIRROR inside the changing rooms. it's so fortunate that we dont have to make-up if not I'LL COMMIT SUICIDE. cause jasmine and xiaohui all very concerned about their looks! their complexsion and all. !!! freaky lorh. then after putting our stuff, me jasmine and xiaohui went to give out the cards which sec 2s made. hoho. i gave out percs, saxes, horns, and all sec 1s cards cause i designed the sec 1s cards. haha. then give out le, went outside to slack abit more. then I DROPPED MY HAIRBAND ON THE FLOOR OUTSIDE THE EUPHOS, HORNS AND TROMBONES CHANGING ROOM. and you know what they did?

leave on the floor, act as a grave and placed a purple flower on it. WHAT THE. -whacks-

then went back to basses changing room, jasmine switched off the lights and we changed into band uniform. realised that our blouse super transparent. if we wore coloured bra can see lah. then eugenia gave us our presents! a long letter and a small photoshopped photo of us framed up. SO NICE! oh yes. then jasmine asked tiffany to help us catch the dead cockroach. OH SHE'S SO BRAVE! haha. then jasmine and i decided to go to the circle seats and watch perc enzem. we went outside and saw psgls here already lah. and a group of boys were outside. they were like sitting on the stairs? then we went into the circle seats and found that the view was better. oh. then WE SAW OUR CONCERT BOOKLET. one word: GORGEOUS. then we saw our basses section photo inside!

WAAAAAHHHHHHHHH. WE SHOULD GET THE MOST UNIQUE SECTION AWARD MAN. we're the only section which photo does not show our faces lah! (apart from horns) JASMINE'S IDEA ONCE AGAIN. paparadum. (: haha. QOUTES JASMINE : "BU4 YAO4 PAI1! BU4 YAO4 PAI1 !" i think horns photo super funny! haha. then trombone's photo very PHOTOGENIC. cause of the different angles of the trombone. woah. pro man.

then went back to our changing room and we chatted and talk and lazed and roamed around for quite a long time before i decide to go to the toilet to wash up. and guess what.

i realised that the rest of the band were not in their changing rooms.

i panicked. ran back to our changing room and yelled for eugenia. then we were like ahh where is everybody. so we decided to go out and see. only percussion were still on stage. the rest of the band were gone. went outside the concert hall, went down vch. and we saw psgls eating their dinner lah. then me and jasmine were like waLIAO. even psgls had their dinner le. WE DONT HAVE? then we saw euphos and asked melissa where they got their dinner. then we went hunting for our dinner, which happened to be outside the lift lobby on the 3rd floor. THANKS ARH. then eugenia told somebody i cant remember who that nobody told us to come down for dinner. then that somebody was like : "eh sorry. cause we couldnt find ya'all." then we were like WHAT THE. dunno such thing called THE HANDPHONE MEH. cannot CALL isit! then in the end we only had like less than 10 minutes to eat dinner lah!

we finally settled down. to eat. -.- behind schedule le. then we were like rush and eat and in the end i decided to throw away the rice. SO WASTED. ): then saw jiaying and ruohui and gave them their cards. and SO COINCIDENTALLY, jiaying got the pink card, ruohui got the green card.

jiaying: "AGAIN! YOU PURPOSELY ONE RIGHT! WHY YOU GIVE ME PINK!"
rouhui: "OMG. YUCK. GREEN AGAIN! WHY YOU GIVE HER PINK! "

me: "no!!!! oh no. not on purpose one! we anyhow pick the cards one!"

rouhui: "ya lorh. why huh! nutcase! give me your card!"

look. I SWEAR OK. it was definitely coincidental! cause the cards is all the sec 2s make togeher, then anyhow pick one card and write one name. that's all! ): not my fault! yuan1 wang4 arh! T.T

then we went back to our changing rooms to wear scarf and tidy up uniform. then went on stage. tuned up and had prep talk by ms chong. then the audience were already crowding outside and the stage manager was like shouting at us whether we could hurry up so that he could open the doors cause it was flooding. then we hurried and went off stage. then the audience came in.

that was the moment i'd never forget.

backstage, everyone was so nervous and we were hugging and comforting and cheering each other on. it just reminded me of last years concert, where almost everyone cried and hugged each other for encouragement and support. i hugged jasmine lots of times i cant remember cause i was very nervous and could feel myself shaking. worse thing is, double basses are the first to enter and the last to leave the stage. IM THE SECOND PERSON TO ENTER THE STAGE. freakky. we kept checking on the crowd and realised that alot of people took the circle seats. then the 1st floor empty empty one. then lined up to get ready to go on stage. then ms chong came around to tell us when the emcess said "audience please be reminded to switch off your handphones...." we go on stage. then saw sylvia crying just moments before the concert. woah scary can. then we heard the emcees said our cue, BUT JASMINE AND I WERE SO STUPID TO THINK THAT THAT WAS JUST A TESTING. so we didnt go on stage. then we realised that WE DIDNT GET OUR INCREDIBLES MASK. then sylvia was like: "oh yea. haiya heck lah." so wasted! all percussion's effort to stay up late and paint the bloody masks for the whole band, then never use! haiz.

then we had screw ups.

10 minutes to appassionata X. patricia LOST HER SHOE BAG. no shoe bag, no band shoes, no socks. woah. we were like freaking out. then patricia finally went to borrow shoes from people and socks from chingying. omg. almost screw up can. lucky pat! (and later she found out that she left her shoe bag in the band room. -.-)

then we heard the emcees saying the introduction of our concert le. then jasmine and i freakked lah. SO SCREWED. then we asked sylvis if it was the time to go onstage, then she quickly ask us to go up. SO SO SCREWED. then jasmine and i quickly went up, followed by the rest of the band. SO MALU. OH MAN. then when the emcees finished their introduction, the band havent even settle down yet lah. wth! oh man. so screwed. then went on stage super nervous. but oh man. the concert feeling was overwhelming. and emotions and memories started flowing back to me. then we started.

ride. i finally saw the story of ride that night. the blurred scenery and everything. sounds super inspiring. lightings were good. woah WE WERE LOUD. oh man. nice. mel's and clara's solo brought back many of our pracs memories. solos were great! and ahhh! i felt very inspired by the part after clara's solo! very nice! i almost wanted to cry. then bowings were abit screwed cause jasmine played wrongly and I HAD TO FOLLOW HER BOWINGS. hrms. but overall was ok. i think we screwed articulation about. and abit untidy. and i didnt screw up! (: except for bowings lah. cause i had to follow jasmine. i'm still thinking of the percussion rhythm in my head lah! ((: LOVES. <3 color="#ff0000">bolero. mr lee took it faster than usual. quite fun actually. solos were great. loved sabrina's solo! thought that joanna's solo was abit soft though, cause the trumpet was muted. i think bolero was quite good. (:

wizard. lightings were great. brought back memories of pracs. where mr lee kept reminding us all the notes where it should be detached and stuff. haha. and it was the first time i ould play one of the parts. cant remmber. think the ending was grand. (: i enjoyed my self for this piece! haha. and yufei's solo! NICE.

incredibles. totally fabulous. lots of people liked it. and tubas, WOAH. i tell you. VERY NICE. PRO-ED PEOPLE. they played super fast can. i was super surprised. and woah! it was VERY EXCITING. especially the trumpets and ther horns. they GROWLED VERY LOUDLY! (: exciting! ((: oh then rochelle! she played bass guitar! then she screwed the last note! never watch ms chong! she played on the pause lah! but i didnt think one heard her. i think we rawked lah! it was teh love<3!>

glenn miller medley. woah. tell you arh. after this song i had alot of blisters on my index finger. then overall it was quite ok i think. except for the trumpet and drumset screw-ups. which were pretty obvious. then i got lost at O or P i cant remember and faked my way. moonlight serenade was ROMANTIC. woah. and the ending was magical. (:

after that was alumni band. they played summon the heroes, first love and i'll follow him. i think everyone loved first love and i'll follow him lah! so nice! was touched by first love, and summon the heroes for the trumpet solo. then jiaying, nutcase and i were "dancing" backstage to i'll follow him! (: haha! HORNS DANCE. (: then some people cried during this time cause of screw ups. but you know, it's ok, we enjoyed ourselves, we played our best. we did well. we were grand! (:

then interval. actually we were not allowed to go out lah but awww heck. we went out anyway. and alot of people came in. the backstage was totally flooded with people looking for people. flood arh! heeelppp meeee! immmm drrooooowwwwwnnnninnnggg. heh ok rubbish. then me and jasmine decided to stay back. and you know, rest. oh then WY QUIN! SHE VERY NICE LAH! SHE GAVE US A NICE BOUQUET EACH. the first time i 've received so many flowers! (: im so touched by her! (: oh man! thanks so much!! thanks mabel for your kisses chocolates too. (: thanks yixi for your flower! and your praises.

after percussion enzem, we went back on stage and got ready for combined band. (: got the very grand feeling seeing the whole band of 100 ++ people occupying the stage. (:

persis. VERY NICE! i was moved to tears by chiaming's solo! and the euphos! super nice! and the best thing is I DIDNT SCREW UP. (: i think it was best so far. REALLY TOUCHING. i nearly cried lah! it brought back beautiful memories of our seniors and our pracs. (: and we were loud enough! (: and the percussion solo was LOVES. very nice. hwee hwee, xiaotian, christal, ANDREA! PRO PEOPLE. ANDREA ON THE MALLETS WAS PRO PRO PRO. then i think trumpets abit brassy but very nice! then euphos and horns and saxophones also! and BASSES OF COURSE. i thought we were very loud! very very nice! and the feeling was magical. damn good. phantom. yes! magical! it was alot better than during pracs lah. WE DIDNT SCREW UP. but i screwed bowings. SO SHIT. but WE SOUNDED SO NICE AND MAGICAL! yes yes. and the solos! damn nice. especially rosalind's solo. I WANTED TO CRY LIAO LARH. so touched. and ya i enjoyed myself thoroughly! VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY NICE. (: and i cant stop thinking of it. and the best thing is, we took like less than 2 months to master this quite difficult piece lah! cause we changed scores. HOW PRO IS THAT. (: oh then MR LEE SUPER CUTE! he came out with a rose which was unexpected for us. then at the end he put on the phantom mask which we bought for him! haha! SO CUTE! (: <33

gelato. OH MAN. FUNFUNFUN. i enjoyed myself. and CHRISTAL ON THE BASS GUITAR! she damn funny lah. queeze her way through percussion stuff to bass section took her quite a long time. oops. =x but she rawked lah. if not BASSES WOULD HAVE DIED. tubas were damn tired lorh. and trumpets were damn loud for gelato. saxes and horns also. then i thought basses rawked. quite loud lorh. ((: oh yes. and the percussion solo rawked. especially hweehwee's solo on the drumset! POWER MAN. damn loud and damn nice please. then after that during the trumpet and trombone solo, the band started dancing AND JASMINE AND I WERE DOING HORN DANCE WITH OUR BASSES ON STAGE. damn retarded lah! then me and jasmine were laughing and smiling LIKE SIAO RETARDS. haha. then clarinets, flutes, saxes, horns, and euphos damn cute! haha. LOVES. <3>

encore piece: ai no corrida. LOUD. basses were like WOAH. although tubas were dying already. then percussion was LOUD LOUD LOUD. haha. and i screwed bowings! ): then abit messy. but i think trumpets very sexy and trombones very strong! ((: LOVES.

haha. then we played school song cause mr lee suggested. (: ya. it was grand playing our own school song at that grand vch. loves people! LOVES.

then we cleared off the stage. then double basses had to go down the last lah. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? jasmine and i had difficulty carrying our basses down! ): cause the steps very steep and very narrow! then jasmine was like screaming for help and she finally went down first with one of the percussion alumni's help in carrying the bottom of the bass. AND YOU KNOW WHAT.

I CARRIED EIEN DOWN ALL BY MYSELF. waliao. PLEASE SAY I RAWK LAH. IM SO PROUD OF MYSELF. ((:

then we went back to our changing room to put our basses down. which was too small so jasmine decided to put her bass outside at the corridor instead. then it was back to meeting friends and getting flowers. thanks ding for the flower, thanks ruimin for the flower, thanks clara for the flower, and many many other people i cant remember who. =x. the backstage was once again flooded with playing. THEN THE HORNS, AND EUPHOS WERE BACKSTAGE PLAYING FATE. oh man. FATE! <3333.>

then afterwards we went back to clear up stuffs. super messy and rubbishy cause we were trying to distinguish whose flowers were whose. so next time better write your BIG NAME there so that you wont lose your flower. haha! (: then basses went to ban1 tubas down stairs le. and you know what.

jasmine and i lost our rosin.

we freaked lah. went back up onstage to find our rosin and the nice uncle found it for us while he was keeping the stands. (: THANKYOU UNCLE.

then me and jasmine packed our stuff and brought our stuff and our bass down. then the whole band helped to ban1 percussion stuff. haha. then we were talking about screw ups lah. alot of people said out concert was nice and SCREW-FREE. erms. no way is it screw-free. haha.

then we had to ban1 percussion stuff ALL THE WAY DOWN THE STAIRS AGAIN! ): so aargh! and tiring. then had to lift the percussion stuff up to neck- level on the truck again. but this time round was easier cause MS CHONG AND ALUMNI WERE THERE TO HELP. ms chong damn strong lah! she almost overturned the synthesizer. !!!! we cannot even lift it up lah! power. then we went back to school. everyone was dead tired lah on the bus. clarinets were still singing lorh! then jasmine and i were thirsty and tired. ): and jasmine's friend sent her a sms that said: "woah. your band has strong basses." we were like !!!!! BASSES IS THE WEAKEST SECTION IN OUR BAND LAH. haha. woah i think we rawked lorh! it was the best concert ever! ((:

then went back to school. I TELL YOU. the SCHOOL VERY UN-USER-FRIENDLY. close all the gates how we get into the school! then they closed the gates to the stairs leading to the bandroom lah! rawwwr. then they finally opened the gates and let us in. then helped basses and percussion to ban1 stuff up again and this time WITH THE LIFT! and i tell you! the school very freakky lah! super freaky at night! then some of us were pissed because not everyone was helping us lah. only like basses percussion and chai jiaying were moving instruments. wth. then alot of them went home alot earlier than us lah! then afterwards when we finished banning stuffs, we went down to outside audi and decided not to go to kap anymore. cause most of us going home. then we sorted out some stuff and cleared up before we left for home. then mr lim and mrs toh were very irritated with us cause we wanted to stay outside the audi to wait for our parents but they insisted that we had to wait outside the gate and they had to wait with us. so we waited outside the gate lorh. then me pearlynne and jasmine cabbed home.

reminder to self- PAY MRS TOH BACK THE 50 BUCKS LAH YOU. HAIYO. ONE WEEK LE. PEA AND JAS QUICK PAY ME!
